Grab a coffee. This is going to be a long one.

I've spent the last five years traveling and living abroad full-time. Teaching English online, both to children and adults, has allowed me the freedom to live the life I always imagined for myself.

And I'm not the only one.

Ask any long-term expat or traveler what they do for a living, and you'll be surprised how many teach English. It's a realistic option with low risk. For many people, it's their entry point to full-time travel.

This guide is my best attempt at being candid. I'm going to give you the highs and the lows (like the time my laptop was stolen from a hostel--more on that later).

There's no sales pitch. You might decide teaching English online isn't for you. But if it's something you want to consider, I'll do my best to leave you with the knowledge to make the best of it.
